A North Allegheny parent who works in the security industry told school board members Wednesday that the district needs better security measures.

Meghan King suggested that, at minimum, the district needs to hire a full-time director of security.

She also told board members about security measures used in comparable districts, such as Mt. Lebanon and Fox Chapel Area.

"Why them and not us," she asked. "We no longer live in that world where we can hope for the best."
