Ross commissioners Monday tweaked an ordinance adopted in July that set a no-parking zone on the most narrow section of Fairley Road.

After the ordinance was passed, a resident said the measurements in the original ordinance were incorrect. Police Chief Robert Bellan said the department's traffic department determined the resident was correct.

Fairley Road residents have been involved in a long-running dispute over on-street parking with residents on both sides of the dispute unable to have their mail delivered.

"We just feel like it is time to make our street safe," resident Chris Hebda said.

Resident Robert Ansell told commissioners the road doesn't meet the township's requirements for a road to be 40 feet wide.

"How many Band-Aids does this township have to put on that street up there before you get it straight?" he asked.

In other business, commissioners Chris Eyster, Lana Mazur, David Mikec and John Sponcer volunteered to serve on a committee to narrow down proposals from 13 engineers and engineering companies that want to serve the township.

Interim Manager Debbie Grass said four or five of the proposals "stand out from the others."

One of the proposals is from Art Gazdik, the man the township is trying to replace.

Mr. Gazdik resigned in May after serving as township engineer for 13 years.

Commissioners also unanimously approved a $4,500 contract with Disney to provide Radio Disney and a Disney on Parade show for the township's Community Day and another township event.
