McCandless Crossing's development on the east side of Cumberland and McKnight Roads was approved by council members during tonight's regular meeting. The approved plans include a 12-screen, all-digital Cinemark Movie Theater and 53 residential units.

According to Bob McGurk, project manager for AdVenture Development LLC, interest in the residential units -- which will be built, marketed and sold by Heartland Homes -- has been tremendous.

Town Manager Tobias Cordek said the theater could be built by late 2013.
