Mars Area School Board selects leader for superintendent search

The Mars Area School Board selected a retired superintendent to help them find a new superintendent.

Board President J. Dayle Ferguson announced today that the board asked Victor Marrone, retired superintendent of the Bethel Park School District, to lead the search.

Mr. Marrone lives in Middlesex and two of his grandchildren attend the Mars Area schools, Mrs. Ferguson said.

Longtime Mars Area Superintendent William Pettigrew announced that he will retire on or before Dec. 1, 2013.
