A man wanted since November for allegedly beating a child was located Friday in Shaler, the county sheriff's office said.

During the summer of 2012, Thomas Joseph Tallon III, now 34, slapped, kicked and punched his ex-girlfriend's daughter, police said.

The child told police Mr. Tallon would videotape her and inflict pain with weapons such as a belt or spatula. She also told police she still has pain issues in areas of her body abused by Mr. Tallon.

Police arrested Mr. Tallon in an abandoned building next to railroad tracks near Kenneth Drive.

He was arrested on a felony count of endangering the welfare of children, as well as charges of simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment. He is being held at the Allegheny County Jail.
