A man was killed and a woman was injured when their cars collided nearly head-on in O'Hara, Allegheny County police said.

Detectives are investigating whether 73-year-old Joseph Kozera, of O'Hara, suffered a medical emergency when he lost control of his vehicle in the 2300 block of Main Street.

Police said he was leaving the Highland Park Bridge off the Sharpsburg ramp about 8:30 a.m. when he crossed the center line and struck a vehicle driven by 70-year-old woman.

She suffered a broken leg and was hospitalized, police said. Mr. Kozera was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner's office.
