Man killed in Shaler vehicle crash

One man was killed and a female passenger was hurt in an early morning accident today.
A spokesman for the Allegheny County medical examiner said Gianluca Cresta, 41, of O'Hara, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 2:35 a.m.
The crash happened when Mr. Cresta lost control of his car on Route 8 in Shaler, near the McDonald's Restaurant. A female passenger was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital. She is expected to survive her injuries, according to the medical examiner's spokesman.
