Kittanning man charged in beating death

Police arrested a Kittanning man last night in the beating death of a Butler County man in a street fight early Sunday morning outside a Kittanning bar.
State troopers charged Dennis Rosenberger, 27, with simple and aggravated assault in the death of James Sullivan, 39, of Chicora.
Mr. Sullivan died after fighting with Mr. Rosenberger on Montieth Street around 2 a.m. Police said Mr. Rosenberger hit Mr. Sullivan in the face, after which Mr. Sullivan fell and struck his head on the pavement.
He died of a fractured skull from the fall.
Mr. Rosenberger has not been charged with homicide. He remains jailed on a $50,000 bond.
