Jordan Brown was found delinquent today in a juvenile proceeding for killing his father's pregnant fiancee with a shotgun in February 2009 when he was just 11 years old.
Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge John Hodge adjudicated the boy delinquent of two counts of homicide for killing 26-year-old Kenzie Houk and her unborn child. She was eight months pregnant.
Prosecutors said the boy shot Ms. Houk, who lived with his father in a farmhouse in New Beaver, in the head as she slept the morning of Feb. 20, then tossed the shell casing in the yard and boarded a bus to go to school.
Originally charged as an adult, he faced life in prison if convicted. But his attorneys successfully had his case moved to juvenile court last year.
As a juvenile delinquent, he can be held by the state until his 21st birthday.
