Hampton to fill school board vacancy

The death of Harold Sarver has created an immediate opening for a school director of the Hampton Township School District. A replacement must be named to serve until December 2011.
Candidates must be residents and be at least 18 years old. Those interested should submit a resume and letter of interest to the administration, explaining why he or she would like to be a school director, and listing skills and experiences that would contribute to service. The school board will review applications and schedule interviews for late December or early January.
Mail applications to: Board President, Hampton Township School District, 4591 School Drive, Allison Park, PA 15101. The deadline is Dec. 17.

Dr. Sarver, who had been a member of the school board since 2005 and was a teacher and administrator in the district from 1963 until 2003, died Nov. 28.
