Gunshot killed Butler County man

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating what appears to be an accidental fatal shooting in Center Township, Butler County.

Police responded to a call about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday from a residence in the 200 block of Pine Tract Road.

Trooper Dan Kesten, who works out of the Butler County barracks, said 21-year-old Matthew Jude Hughes of Butler died from a single gunshot fired from a revolver. A news release from state police said investigators believe the wound was self-inflicted and accidental.
