Group finalizes purchase of Aspinwall Marina for park

The nonprofit group Friends of the Riverfront has finalized its purchase of the Aspinwall Marina, the group announced Wednesday.
The group bought the marina on River Avenue from David Kushon for $2.3 million and plans to construct a 10-acre community park, which will include a one-mile walking trail, near the marina.
Funding for the project came primarily from donations and from a $500,000 bridge loan from the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy.
