A fire in the main operations of an Ellwood City metals recycling plant is now under control.
No injuries have been reported at Inmetco, a subsidiary of the Robinson-based zinc producer Horsehead Holding, a Lawrence County dispatcher said, but crews remain on scene.
The fire was reported at 6:40 p.m. Eight fire companies from three counties were fighting the blaze, the dispatcher said. It was declared under control just after 8:30 p.m. No homes in the area were evacuated.
No further details were immediately available.
In December, a fire broke out in the receiving area of an Inmetco warehouse that stores batteries, which the plant recycles. Three employees fled the building then and called 911, but none was injured.
It took eight fire departments to battle that blaze, which was under control in about three hours.
