Fire kills woman, 78, in Armstrong County

An elderly woman died Sunday in a house fire in Armstrong County.
The victim, Mary Ellen Fink, 78, was the mother of Armstrong County Commissioner Richard Fink, according to KDKA-TV.
Fire Chief Steve Baker said the blaze broke out around 7:30 a.m. at a home on Franklin Street in Applewold.
Ms. Fink lived alone and had recently returned home from the hospital, according to KDKA-TV. She died as a result of smoke inhalation, according to the county coroner.
A fire marshal has been asked to investigate.
