Explosion rocks West Deer golf course

West Deer golf course that was rocked by an explosion early Sunday is open for business.

Rose Ridge Golf Course manager Jackie Mimm said the maintenance building was destroyed in the blast that was reported at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

No one was injured in the incident at the golf course located along Gibsonia Road. An emergency dispatch supervisor said a fire marshal is investigating.

The explosion sparked a blaze that was battled for several hours by firefighters.

Ms. Mimm said the maintenance building was used to store course maintenance equipment. She had no estimate of the loss or the cause of the explosion.
