Copper wire stolen from 75 New Castle utility poles

State police in New Castle are looking for the individuals who stole hundreds of feet of copper ground wire from more than 75 utility poles in North Beaver.

Police said the thefts occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Friday and 7 Saturday morning at locations along southbound Route 108, Route 551, Route 224 and on Mount Air Road and Mohawk School Road.

Police couldn't say exactly how much wire was stolen, but estimated it was a few hundred feet of wire worth thousands of dollars. Penn Power is assessing damage to the area.
