Since the resignation of Bellevue manager Doug Sample last month, the borough has received more than 30 applicants for the position.
Council voted Tuesday to contract with Public Partners LLC, a management support company for local governments, for manager search services and on-site interview assistance.
Council also voted to lower the health care contributions of nonunion staff members from 7 to 5 percent. Council President Linda Wosher and Susan Viscusi voted no.
Two years ago, council imposed a 10 percent contribution rate to show unionized workers that all borough employees were contributing.
Last year, council promised nonunion workers that when the union starts contributing, the borough would lower their contribution percentage.
This year, the police and fire departments began contributing 5 percent, and last month, council reduced the nonunion employees' contribution to 7 percent.
