Beattie hires new executive director

During tonight's Joint Operating Committee of A.W. Beattie Career Center, the board approved the contract and appointment of Eric Heasley as its executive director.
Formerly the McCandless school's Career and Technical Education principal, Mr. Heasley was named acting director upon the retirement of former Executive Director Kathryn Ingram last year. He then vied for the position along with many other candidates.
According to Mr. Heasley, Beattie's students can look forward to a curriculum expansion in the next year in anticipation of an increasing amount of energy sector job opportunities in the area.
