Allegheny County closes rural bridge

Allegheny County has been forced to close a bridge on Dawson Road in West Deer because of deterioration.
Bull Creek Bridge No. 9 will remain closed until it is replaced, with an estimated completion date of next October, the public works department announced. Traffic will be detoured via Saxonburg Boulevard, Millerstown-Culmerville Road, Millerstown Road and Thompson Road.
The existing 45-foot-long bridge was built in 1894 and had been posted with a weight limit.
