1 dead, 2 injured in Clarion County car crash

One person died and two others were seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Clarion County.
State police at Clarion said Cassandra Smith, 28, of Clarion was killed in the crash about 1 p.m. on Route 322 in Elk.
Police said Ronald Frederick, 70, of Shippenville was westbound when his pickup truck crossed the center line and struck an oncoming car driven by Ms. Smith.
A passenger in Ms. Smith's car, 46-year-old Juanita Megliss of Summerville, was hurt. Police described her injuries as "major." She and Mr. Frederick were taken to UPMC Northwest in Seneca, Venango County.
The investigation into the accident is continuing.
