Woman, 23, killed in Bedford County crash

A 23-year-old woman was killed Tuesday evening when she lost control of the car she was driving in Bedford County, state police said.

Police said the victim, Jessica Hope Cornwell of New Paris, was traveling south on Egolf Road in Colerain when the vehicle she was driving began sliding sideways, went up and over an embankment and the driver's side hit a tree.

The crash occurred about 5:30 p.m. near the Bedford Sportsman Club.
