Westmoreland County man dies in motorcycle accident

A Westmoreland County man died early this morning when his motorcycle veered into oncoming traffic and struck a car.

Keith W. Zedek, 35, of Mount Pleasant, was pronounced dead at Excela Health Frick Hospital, 45 minutes after the 12:59 a.m. accident.

The crash happened on state Route 31 in East Huntingdon, about a half-mile east of Shultz Road.

The Westmoreland County Coroner's Office said Mr. Zedek was riding eastbound up a hill when he crossed the center line and hit a car head-on.

Mr. Zedek, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from his bike. He died of head, chest and leg injuries, the coroner's office said.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating. No additional information was available.
