Vandals hit Indiana County graveyard

Sixty-three grave markers and other venerated objects were vandalized sometime between Thursday and yesterday morning at the St. Bernard Church Cemetery in White, Indiana County, state police said.

The damage was done on two occasions, between 6 p.m. on Feb. 21 and 6 a.m. Feb. 22, and between 8:30 p.m. Feb. 25 and 5:30 a.m. yesterday, state police said.

In addition to the dozens of toppled gravestones, damage included two smashed statues within the cemetery's shrine, several lights and other statues broken throughout the cemetery and broken glass candle holders.

No damage estimate was available, police said.

No arrests have been made.
