U.S. Marshals arrest key witness in killing of Penn Hills police officer

A key witness being sought for the capital trial of the man accused of shooting Penn Hills policeman Michael Crawshaw was arrested by U.S. Marshals Tuesday night.
That gives prosecutors the go-ahead to start the trial for Ronald Robinson, who is now scheduled for jury selection on Nov. 12, with testimony to begin Nov. 26.
Officer Crawshaw was shot to death in his patrol car on Dec. 6, 2009, after responding to a 911 call at a home in the 200 block of Johnston Road.
Danyal Morton, 40, was killed inside the home. Police say he owed money to Mr. Robinson for a drug debt.
The case was slated to begin on Monday, but the prosecution said it could not go forward because a crucial witness in the case was missing.
The district attorney's office would not name that witness.
