Two Stoystown, Somerset County men died today in separate vehicle crashes in that county, police said.

David Jeron Hostetler, 23, was driving north on Route 281 in Quemahoning when he lost control of his car, according to state police.

Police said the car slid off the road sideways into a tree and landed upside down. Police were called just after 7 a.m. but they do not know when the crash took place. Mr. Hostetler, who was wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.

In the other crash, shortly before 8:45 a.m., David Sutton, 62, was driving west on Pompey Hill Road in Stonycreek Township when he lost control of his vehicle while attempting to make a right turn, police said.

He slid across the eastbound lane and off the road before striking a tree head-on. The car spun back onto the road, police said, and came to a rest in the eastbound lane. Mr. Sutton was not wearing a seatbelt.
