Two jurors selected in Penn Hills homicide

Two jurors were chosen Monday during the first day of jury selection in the capital case against a man accused of killing Penn Hills police Officer Michael Crawshaw.
Ronald Robinson, 35, of Homewood, is charged in the Dec. 6, 2009, shooting of Crawshaw, who was killed as he responded to a 911 call on Johnston Road in Penn Hills.
Also killed was Danyal Morton, who was inside the home. Investigators believe Morton was killed because of a drug debt.
Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Kevin G. Sasinoski addressed a panel of 35 prospective jurors in the morning, and out of those, seven said that they had read about, or were familiar with, the case.
The jurors chosen included a woman who has a 32-year-old son, and a younger woman who works in college admissions.
The process will pick back up again today. Judge Sasinoski said the trial is expected to last about 10 days and will begin on Monday.
