Free concerts to include local songwriters
SummerSounds, Greensburg's free summer concert series in St. Clair Park, starts Friday with a new addition this year.
Local musicians from the Pittsburgh Songwriters Circle will perform a pre-show, usually from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m., before the headline performer at 7 p.m. each Friday in June, July and August.
Here is the list of the scheduled performers: The SteelDrivers, Friday; Carbon Leaf, June 8; Snarky Puppy, June 15; Civil Twilight, June 22; Brother Joscephus and the Love Revival Revolution Orchestra, June 29; The Mary Ann Redmond Band, July 6; Sons of Bill, July 13; Delta Rae, July 20; Hoots and Hellmouth, July 27; The English Channel, Aug. 3; Christine Spero Group, Aug. 10; NOMaD, Aug. 17; Ryan Montbleau Band, Aug. 24; and A Silent Film, Aug. 31.
The concerts are held in the Robertshaw Amphitheater in St. Clair Park. Free parking is available in two lots behind the amphitheater. Parking at metered spots in the city is free after 5 p.m.

Meeting to discuss grocery plans
The Jeannette Circles Initiative will hold a community meeting Wednesday to present the results of an online survey on shopping trends that was conducted as part of an effort that aims to attract a grocery store to the city.
Other topics include reports on the Jeannette Circles farm market and community garden and the project sponsored by the Jeannette Redevelopment Authority and conducted by students at Indiana University of Pennsylvania to map all properties in Jeannette.
Snacks will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m.; the meeting will begin at 6.
