Testimony continues in shooting death of Penn Hills officer

The Penn Hills police officer who was shot and killed three years ago fired at least two shots from inside his patrol car that night.
Michael Crawshaw was responding to a 911 call at 201 Johnston Road at 8:22 p.m. on Dec. 6, 2009.
Evidence presented today during the second day of trial for Ronald Robinson showed that Officer Crawshaw was shot just 14 seconds after he told dispatch he was turning on to Johnston Road.
Robinson is charged with killing Danyal Morton, who lived at the home, over a $500 drug debt. Prosecutors allege that as Robinson was fleeing the scene, he encountered Crawshaw, who was still inside his patrol car. Robinson is believed to have fired about a dozen shots from an AK-47 toward the officer, striking him in the head and left arm.
This morning, Allegheny County Detective James Holman played for the jury a compilation of the various 911 calls and police and dispatch radio exchanges.
The initial 911 call from Morton was made at about 8:22 p.m. Police believe Morton was killed less than three minutes later and that Officer Crawshaw was killed about a minute after that.
Testimony broke for the day shortly after 2 p.m. and will resume Monday morning.
