Port Authority police seek help from the public in finding two people they believe robbed a woman near the East Busway's Hamnett station in Wilkinsburg last weekend.

A 26-year-old woman had just gotten off a bus coming from Downtown about 12:50 a.m. Sunday when she was thrown to the ground by two teenage boys who had also been on the bus, according to Port Authority detective Sgt. Bill Wagner Bill.

Both teens assaulted her, then took her purse and left on foot, Sgt. Wagner. One teen kicked her and the other slammed her into a wall, knocking her to ground, Sgt. Wagner said. She was bruised but otherwise OK.

"She put up a good fight with him," he said of the boy who "football slammed" her into the wall.

Port Authority cameras in the station, bus and Downtown helped police capture photos of the boys; officials believe were Downtown from about 4 p.m. on that day.

Wilkinsburg and Swissvale police departments also responded. A police dog tracked the suspects up to nearby Cole Street, where police found some of the woman's belongings that had apparently been tossed out of her purse. The dog ultimately lost the scent, Sgt. Wagner said.
