A man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a black bandana covering his face held a knife to a man's neck, demanding drugs and money this weekend.
State police at Kiski Valley said the attempted robbery happened at 2:30 a.m. Saturday at a home on Madison Avenue in Export.
The victims are identified as Krystal Hedderman, 20, and Douglas M. Houck Jr., 25.
Police said Ms. Hedderman was visiting Mr. Houck at his home, having arrived at about 2:18 a.m. A few minutes later, Mr. Houck answered a knock on the door at which point Mr. Houck was tackled, police said.
Ms. Hedderman attempted to flee, police said, but the masked man grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the ground. Both victims were ordered to sit at a table. The unknown man grabbed a steak knife from the kitchen table and held it to Mr. Houck's throat, demanding drugs and money, police said. Ms. Hedderman was able to escape, flee to a nearby residence and call 911, police said.
No drugs or money were received by the would-be robber.
The investigation is continuing.
