A Penn Hills man was sentenced to life in prison without parole Wednesday for stabbing another man 50 times and then chopping up his body.

Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Edward Borkowski imposed the sentence on Vito Pelino, 27, who had been convicted of first-degree murder in March.

Prosecutors said he killed William King, 23, in February 2011 because Mr. King was hitting on his sister at a bar. After killing Mr. King, Pelino cut the body into pieces and hid them in his mother's basement. The next day, he enlisted the help of another man, Corey Robert, to dispose of the parts on a hillside in Plum. Mr. Robert went to police.
