One killed, one wounded in Wilkinsburg shootings

A man was shot and killed this morning in Wilkinsburg at a Paul Court apartment complex.

According to the Allegheny County medical examiner's office, Jemel Howard Bey, 19, was shot in the torso about 12:05 a.m. and transported to a local hospital. He was declared dead at 1:02 a.m.

In a press release, Allegheny County police said second man was shot in the hand in front of a house on Princeton Avenue immediately after the Paul Court shooting. Investigators believe the same people are responsible for both incidents, according to the release.

Wilkinsburg officers who first responded to the 911 call believe more than 20 gunshots were fired, according to the county police release.

County police asked anyone with information about the shootings to call the agency's homicide unit at 412-473-1300.
