The new bridge that carries eastbound Route 30 traffic over Electric Avenue in North Braddock will open today, PennDOT announced.

Eastbound traffic has been diverted to the westbound side with a single-lane pattern in both directions during construction. When the bridge opens late this afternoon, traffic will continue to be restricted to one lane both ways until Wednesday afternoon, when crews will have removed barriers and restored two lanes in both directions.

Next spring, westbound traffic will cross over and the single-lane restrictions both ways will be repeated while the westbound bridge is torn down and replaced. The overall project will conclude late next year.
