Monroeville firm will build warehouse facilities in Westmoreland

A Monroeville-based development company will build multiple flex-type industrial facilities on nearly 28 acres in the I-70 Industrial Park in South Huntingdon, the Westmoreland County Industrial Development Corp. announced today.
When the project by the Shalestone Group is completed, about 200 jobs will be generated at the site, the WCIDC said.
"More trucking, more warehousing, more supply materials and drilling equipment all mean more jobs for Westmoreland County," Westmoreland County Commissioner Chuck Anderson said in a news release. "We want to create more good-news stories like the one here in the I-70 Industrial Park all over Westmoreland County."
The parcel was purchased for $552,200 by the Wendell H. Stone Co., a diverse conglomerate of which Shalestone is a subsidiary.
The WCIDC said Shalestone will cater to the needs of industrial as well as oil and gas-related exploration firms that have entered the region during the past few years to explore Marcellus Shale natural gas deposits.
"Westmoreland County continues to have its share of impact from natural gas exploration," Jason Rigone, WCIDC executive director, said in the release. "This park in particular has been a focal point of inquiries for companies in the industry who are looking for sites to start up operations."
