A Stanton Heights man who police said was jealous over a paramour's new relationship was ordered Friday to stand trial on charges that he killed her and her boyfriend while they slept in their Wilkinsburg home.

A district judge held Joshua Wright, 23, for court on two counts of homicide stemming from the July 2 killings of Da'Shawna Gibson, 24, and Michael Black, 23, inside the home in the 500 block of Princeton Boulevard.

A witness told Allegheny County homicide detectives she was sleeping on the living room floor about 5 a.m. when she heard someone step over her and climb the stairs to the second floor.

She told police she heard gunshots and saw Mr. Wright tiptoe down the stairs, go out the kitchen door and take off in a white SUV. It was not until 2 p.m. that the same witness called 911 to report that the door to the home was ajar.

Responding officers found the bodies.

Court records show Mr. Wright had a rocky relationship with Ms. Gibson, the mother of his 3-year-old son.

She filed protection from abuse orders claiming he threatened to hurt and kill her, though a judge dismissed one of the orders when she failed to show up for a hearing.
