An Armstrong County man was killed early this morning when his Jeep crashed and rolled over in Washington Township.

Pennsylvania State Police in the Kittanning barracks said William Jason Bowser, 39, of Adrian, was driving on Reesedale Road when he drove his Jeep Wrangler off the left side of the road, hit an embankment and rolled over 1 1/2 times, according to a news release.

Troopers were dispatched to the site, about a half-mile northeast of Adrian Sherret Road, shortly after 1:45 a.m. after a passing driver stopped and found Mr. Bowser lying in a ditch near the vehicle.

Mr. Bowser, whom police believe was thrown from the vehicle, had not been wearing his seat belt.

He was transported to Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Armstrong County Deputy Coroner Brian K. Myers ruled the death accidental and said Mr. Bowser died of head and chest injuries suffered in the crash.
