A Wilkinsburg man was shot and killed early today while walking home, Allegheny County police said.
Officers found Timothy Boyd, 41, suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest when they arrived in the 1100 block of Pitt Street about 3 a.m. He died an hour later at UPMC Presbyterian, the medical examiner's office said.
Police don't know why Mr. Boyd was shot but said he was walking down the street when three young men passed him, one of whom fired a gun.
Police described the gunman as in his late teens or early 20s, about 5-foot-8 with a medium build and corn rows.
County police urged anyone with information to call the homicide squad at 412-473-1300.
