An Indiana County man was killed Sunday night when his mobile home caught fire.

Steven Brewer, 35, was pronounced dead at his home in the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue in the Chevy Chase section of White Township, according to a news release from Indiana County Coroner Michael Baker.

The Indiana County 911 Center received a call about 10:07 p.m., but the residence was engulfed in flames when crews arrived minutes later.

Mr. Brewer was found in the kitchen. His dog also died in the blaze, but his 16-year-old son was safe elsewhere with friends, according to the coroner's office.

The State Police fire marshal is investigating the cause and origin of the fire. An autopsy is scheduled for this morning.
