Here are official trick-or-treat times for some towns in the eastern suburbs. Note that most will follow the holiday's traditional date of Oct. 31 -- Wednesday of next week. Many communities ask that residents turn on porch lights to welcome the little goblins safely and that parents check treats before little ones dig in.
Braddock: Trick-or-treat, 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Churchill: Trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
East McKeesport: Trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
East Pittsburgh: Trick-or-treat, 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Edgewood: Trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Pitcairn: A Harvest Festival parade steps off at 12:30 p.m. Saturday from Assembly of God Church; trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

South Versailles: Trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Swissvale: A Halloween parade steps off at 11:45 a.m. Saturday from Rosyln Street; trick-or-treat, 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Trafford: A Halloween parade sets off at 1 p.m. Sunday at Fourth and Duquesne avenues, with a party after the march at the American Legion; trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Verona: Trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Versailles: Trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
White Oak: A Halloween parade steps off at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at White Oak Elementary School; trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Wilkinsburg: Trick-or-treat, 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Delmont: A Halloween parade steps off at 1 p.m. Saturday at Delmont Volunteer Fire Hall; trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Irwin: A Halloween parade steps off at 3 p.m. Saturday on Second Street; trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Greensburg: A Halloween parade steps off at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at Lynch Field; trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. that night.
South Greensburg: A Halloween parade steps off at 5 p.m. Wednesday from the American Legion, corner of Huff and Broad streets; trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. that night.
Hempfield Township: Trick-or-treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
