A 10 year old girl was injured Wednesday after falling about 15 feet from a chairlift at Hidden Valley.
The girl, whose name wasn't immediately available, was riding with two friends shortly after 5 p.m. on a four-passenger chairlift that serves the resort's North Summit slopes and trails.
Scott Bender, vice president of resort operations, said the girl was preparing to get off the lift when she fell. He said the accident happened as the girls were raising a metal restraining bar over their heads in preparation for getting off the lift.
The resort's safety patrol responded to the scene, placed the girl on a toboggan and took her down the Imperial slope to its headquarters at the base of the mountain.
After an initial assessment by the patrol, the ambulance crew drove the girl about a mile to a clearing where a helicopter picked her up and flew her to the Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown.
