Elderly man's drowning ruled natural causes

A North Versailles man whose body was found in his backyard swimming pool died of natural causes, the Allegheny County medical examiner's office determined Tuesday.

Rodney Bartell's wife found him inside the swimming pool at their Walnut Avenue home at 8:37 p.m. Monday. Medics pronounced the 82-year-old man dead at 8:46 p.m.

An autopsy conducted on Tuesday revealed that Mr. Bartell died of heart disease.
