Greensburg -- The Academy of Music of the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra is holding the following classes at the Greensburg Garden & Civic Center, 951 Old Salem Road, except where indicated. Information: 724-837-1850.
• Community Strings, primarily adults, 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays. Cost: $99.
• Westmoreland Youth Symphony Orchestra Philharmonic, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Performing Arts Center of Seton Hill University, 100 Harrison Ave. Cost: $180.
• String Ensemble, mostly middle school students, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, starting Wednesday through May 2. Cost: $85.
• Intermezzo, for beginning violin students taking private lessons, 6 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 27 through April 30. Cost: $50.
Murrysville -- Symphony East will meet at 11 a.m. Feb. 20 at Redstone Highlands, 4951 Cline Hollow Road. Lunch will be at noon, followed by a program featuring Lance LaDuke on euphonium and jazz pianist David Cutler. Families of home-schooled children invited. Donation: $5 per adult.
