Allegheny County detectives investigate fatal Monroeville crash

Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating a fatal crash that happened in Monroeville late Thursday.
Francis Spearman, 74, of Wilkinsburg, was driving east on Saunders Station Road about 8 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and struck another head-on, according to the county medical examiner's office.
Mr. Spearman was taken to UPMC Mercy, where he was pronounced dead at 8:07 p.m.
County police did not immediately return a call seeking further information.
