Allegheny County police arrested three people today in connection with the Tuesday shooting death of a Wilkinsburg man.

Terrance Chatman, 20, of North Braddock, and Jaykwaan Pinckney and Christopher Williams, both 17 and from Wilkinsburg, face charges of homicide, robbery and conspiracy in the death of 25-year-old Anthony "Pooh" Dawson. Christopher and Jaykwaan have been charged as adults.

Police wrote in a criminal complaint that a woman called Mr. Dawson about 8 p.m to see if her keys were in an apartment on South Avenue. When she arrived about a half hour later to pick them up, she found Mr. Dawson lying face down between the kitchen and living room with a gunshot wound to the head. Medics pronounced him dead when they arrived.

After interviewing several witnesses, whose identities were not listed in the complaint, police determined that Mr. Chatman borrowed someone's phone and called Mr. Dawson under the guise that he wanted to buy marijuana.

Jaykwaan later told police that he gave Christopher "a couple of hints" about how to rob Mr. Dawson. He said he watched from outside as Christopher entered the apartment, aimed at Mr. Dawson and fired a single shot, causing him to fall to the ground, according to the complaint.

All three suspects were awaiting arraignment tonight.
