State police in Bedford County cited a 14-year-old boy and his mother after police said the boy crashed into another vehicle.

Troopers said the boy, whose name has not been released, was driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am on State Highway 869 when he swerved into oncoming traffic and hit another car near LaFayette Road in South Woodbury about 1 p.m. on Memorial Day.

Police cited the boy with traffic violations and charged his mother, Jennifer Ponder, 32, of Roaring Spring, with permitting traffic violations, according to police.
