Wood Street to close in Downtown Pittsburgh for construction of Tower at PNC Plaza

Construction of the Tower at PNC Plaza will close parts of Wood Street to traffic in Downtown Pittsburgh and force Port Authority bus-route detours starting tonight.

These Port Authority bus routes will be detoured, with stops eliminated at Wood and Fourth Avenue and Wood and Forbes: 39 Brookline, 40 Mount Washington, 41 Bower Hill, 43 Bailey, 44 Knoxville, 48 Arlington, 51 Carrick, Y46 Elizabeth Flyer, Y47 Curry Flyer and Y49 Prospect Flyer.

Those routes will have temporary stops at the Boulevard of the Allies and Wood and at Fifth Avenue and Wood.

Traffic on intersecting streets will be permitted to cross Wood, according to a release from P.J. Dick Inc.

Starting at 11 p.m. and continuing through 6 a.m. Tuesday, northbound Wood Street will be closed from the Boulevard of the Allies to Fifth Avenue. Wood will be closed in both directions between Fifth and Forbes avenues.
