The victim of an apparent drug deal gone bad Friday afternoon in Brighton Heights has been identified.
City homicide detectives said Sean Blackwell, 35, of Manchester was found shot in the chest on the kitchen floor of an apartment in the 1700 block of Termon Avenue about 4:54 p.m. He was transported to Allegheny General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:54 p.m.
Detectives developed information that Mr. Blackwell and another man had gone to the location to complete a drug deal. However, upon entering the kitchen they were confronted by three men, one of whom pulled out a gun and shot Mr. Blackwell. One of the other suspects assaulted Mr. Blackwell's companion.
After the attack, the three suspects ran out of the rear apartment door and fled the scene in a white Ford 150 truck and a dark green 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
