'Veteran Voices' joins Soldiers & Sailors in collecting tales

Veterans toured exhibits and enjoyed a meal at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall in Oakland on Saturday as part of the kickoff for a new partnership between the military museum and an organization that collects service members' stories.

Soldiers & Sailors and Veteran Voices of Pittsburgh have joined forces to collect and preserve the military experiences of southwestern Pennsylvania residents.

Former service personnel attending Saturday's event watched a video featuring previous "Veteran Voices" recordings. They then had an opportunity to tell and record their own stories during the "Celebration of Veterans" event.
