Two men were found dead this morning at the North Side YMCA, Pittsburgh police said.
Major crimes unit Lt. Kevin Kraus said the men lived on the same floor but in separate apartments in the facility at West North Avenue and Monterey Street.
Police do not believe the deaths are suspicious. The causes of death are still unknown.
Homicide detectives were on the scene after 10 a.m.
YMCA resident Dennis Fox said he got a knock on the door about 9 a.m. from the man who runs the building, who was there to check on him after Mr. Fox's neighbor was found dead.
Mr. Fox said the man next door was "very quiet" and about a month or two ago, Mr. Fox said, he noticed a "do not disturb" sign on the man's door.
Mr. Fox said he was shocked to learn of the deaths and that he had seen the other man only a day or two ago.
"It's just weird, it's odd, that two people could die on the same floor ... so close together," he said.
Mr. Fox said staff does monthly room inspections at the YMCA, where he has lived two years.
