SWAT event in Crafton Heights ends with man in custody

A four-hour long special weapons and tactics team situation in Crafton Heights has ended, according to police dispatchers.

Pittsburgh police had deployed a SWAT members to the 700 block of Crucible Avenue near Woodlow Street to coax a man, possibly armed with a rifle, out of a house.

A suspect was taken into custody around 3:30 p.m., police dispatchers said.

Officers were initially sent to the residence at 11:24 a.m. for a domestic dispute, dispatchers said.
